Project Goals
- Provide optimal services of mental health crisis intervention to First Nations and First Nation shelters.
- Create awareness and knowledge of the services available through Circling Buffalo Inc.
- Improve the quality of life for those suffering from mental health concerns or episodes of mental health concerns with the use of crisis intervention stabilization.
- Work with First Nation shelters and First Nations to bridge the gap between clients in crisis and access to services of MHT.
Target Area
- 63 Manitoba First Nations on an on-call basis
- Monthly scheduled visits to Manitoba First Nation shelters in Mathias Colomb, Shamattawa, Nisichawayasihk, Norway House, and Fisher River
- All service requests must be in relation to Family Violence
Expectation of Service Providers
- Provide mental health services to contacts impacted by family violence
- Keep record of all contacts visited, other key information areas identified by Project Coordinator. Information recorded will not put client confidentiality in jeopardy
- Provide evaluation feedback for an annual final report on direction, recommendations, and service delivery for future years
- Quick remuneration for services (same week or when reports are received)
